Kia SP Signature Concept looks production ready at Seoul Motor Show (Showcased)
Kia SP Signature will carry 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engines along with 1.4-litre turbo T-GDi petrol engine for performance enthusiasts.
Kia has unveiled the near production-ready version of Kia SP Concept which we saw in trial runs. The Kia SP Signature Concept carries all the bits and pieces which we saw in its concept. The front and rear of actual car and concept are quite tough to differentiate, however, the profile has significant changes to it. The grab handles and alloy wheels are the most significant visuals differences.
Look closely and you’ll find the minute differences on the front and rear bumper. The headlight and DRL housing have been slashed down in size to suit the overall dimensions. At the rear has re-positioned reflectors and sophisticated design for exhausts. Kia has used a lot of chrome all across the exterior which looks a bit too flashy in the studio lighting conditions, so commenting now would be too early.
Kia SP interiors are still under the shade as the glasses were all black to block visibility inside. This car is based on Hyundai Creta’s platform which has been restructured for this car. The same platform will be used for next-gen Hyundai Creta and moreover, it can also support a 7-seater vehicle. With that said, we may witness a 7-seater Kia SP Signature in future but for that, Kia will first see if this car suits people’s taste.
Powering this car will be 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units. Exact power figures will be discovered in later times, but Kia has plans to introduce a performance edition as well with 1.4-litre turbocharged direct engine petrol T-GDi engine.
Equipment level of this SUV will carry Heads Up Display. Wireless Charging, WiFi, 360-degree camera, and ambient lighting.
Competing with Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass, and Nissan Kicks, this mid-size SUV will be selling between approx Rs.10 lakhs to Rs. 16 lakhs ex-showroom.
