The 2020 Hyundai i20 will be based on a new platform. It’ll be longer and wider than the current generation i20. Also, the car will get better equipment and features than the ongoing model and the competition. It’s expected to carry a base price of Rs. 5.75 Lakhs (ex-showroom-Delhi).
Hyundai i20 2020 has already been showcased in the European market and will entring Indian in September/October 2020, post the COVID 19 pandemic gets over. As per the spy shots, the car will receive radical changes to it. This includes 17-inch alloy wheels (which may not come to India), wider and longer dimensions, LED headlights, Hyundai’s new face with a wider honeycomb grille that we saw in Verna and Elantra 2020, character lines, the faux diffuser on the rear bumper, tail lights with Z-shaped LED light and a reflector beam that connects the left and right sidelights.
On the inside, the car gets a 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, a new design steering wheel (Inspired from 2020 Hyundai Creta), rear quarter glass for better visibility, 10.25 inch LED panel for the instrument cluster. This car will also have ambient lights all across the cabin.
As for the engine options, the 2020 Hyundai i20 will get the units from the Hyundai Venue. The 1.2-litre Kappa petrol, 1.0-litre TGD-i petrol, and 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engines will be powering this car once launched. Hyundai India has standardized this BS6 engine range with almost all of its vehicles under 4-meter of length including the Grand i10 Nios, Venue and i20.
The 2020 Hyundai i20 will receive competition from Maruti Suzuki Baleno/Toyota Glanza, VW Polo, and Tata Altroz. Stay tuned to Motorzeal.com for the latest update on this.
