Tata 45X has been confirmed for showcase at 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The car has been confirmed to be premiered with an official video from Tata Motors. Unlike the concept the production spec car will have shorter length to save taxes applicable on sub 4-meter cars. The Tata 45X interior will be very close to the one we saw in Tata Harrier. Also, in terms of equipment level, this car will omit most of the bits seen in its concept form.
The production spec car may be called as Tata Aquilla. It had a lot of similarities with Tata H5X concept i.e. Tata Harrier concept. The front had a sleek headlight housing and grill less front bumper housing, 20 inch Alloy wheels etc. With the production model, The Tata 45X will carry a 17 inch alloy, halogen/projector headlamps, and a redesigned bumper and spoiler. It will be available with 1.2-liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engine from Nexon. Not just this, Tata is also developing a 3 cylinder petrol engine paired with a mild hybrid system. Once launched, it will compete with Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, and VW Polo.
Tata 45X prices may start from Rs. 6 lakhs for petrol and Rs. 7 lakhs for diesel ex-showroom.
Tata 45X EV is also on charts. Tata Motors is building this car on its advanced modular platform also known as alfa arc platform. This platform will underpin a number of models in future and will help manufacturer to keep costs under control. The production version of 45X Ev or Tata Aquilla EV will be introduced by early 2021, but the concept can be seen at Geneva Motoshow.
